Restaurant Review: Pasquini's Pizzeria (Uptown)

I've reviewed Pasquini's before for its carryout but this review is for eating in. Pasquini's in uptown has the atmosphere you would expect from a pizza place. There is a bar in the front with TV's playing whatever games happen to be on at the time. It's a good, casual atmosphere. It was Tuesday night, so we didn't have to wait.

Even before we had sat down, the hostess had put a plate of their buttery, parmesan-y breadsticks on the table. We didn't have any plates so we just didn't have any but the gesture is great.

The beer selection is a little bit light for a Colorado pizza restaurant, I have to say, but there are some good choices and you should be able to find something. Fat Tire is on tap.

I ordered a dinner salad with Italian dressing. Pasquini's gives a generous portion of lettuce, cheese, olives, tomatoes, and (no onions for me). Again, just the type of salad you would want before you eat a great pizza.

When you eat in at Pasquini's, the largest available pizza size is 18" versus 16" for carryout. We got a half cheese and half pepperoni and mushroom. The pizza came to our table piping hot and was much better eaten immediately than the usual 30 minute delay I have when I take it out. Pasquini's makes a great pizza.

The service was average but the group I was with was very engaged in our conversation so it worked out fine - I did have to ask for a missing silverware set, but no big deal.

Overall, Pasquini's Pizzeria in uptown scores a point lower for eating in than take out (at least this time) because of the limited beer selection and the average service. However, the salad is a plus and the pizza is better in restaurant.

Score: 7.5/10
