Rockies sign Tulowitzki to 6 year, $31 MM deal

The Rockies made a smart move today and signed their next franchise player, Troy Tulowitzki, to a 6 year, $31 million deal with a club option for a 7th year at $15 million. Good move to lock him up at this price now instead of a more expensive price if he continues to produce at the rate he did last year. Also, with Todd Helton nearing the end of his career, the Rockies need to lock-in a player that can be the new face of the franchise and that they can heavily market around. Tulowitzki proved very popular in his rookie year and probably can be that player.

Tulo lands a big deal
