Current polling data for the Colorado Caucus next tuesday has finally emerged from the Denver Post, conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc.
Their polling data shows a runaway for Mitt Romney on the Republican side of the ledger while Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are running within the margin of error for the Democrats.
Specifically, Obama leads Clinton 34% to 32% (3.5 margin of error) in the poll of 800 registered Colorado voters (and narrowed down to likely Caucus goers) taken January 21-23. John Edwards received 17% while 14% were undecided.
Mitt Romney polled at 43% while Mccain came in at 24%. Laggers were Huckabee at 17%, Ron Paul at 5%, and Giuliani at 4%.
This poll takes into account the most recent Republican primary contests but does not take into account any possible bump Barack Obama may receive from his dominating victory in Saturday's Democratic South Carolina primary.
It seems to be a two person race on each side, but most of the drama will probably come from the Democrats. As earlier mentioned in this blog, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton (on Hillary's behalf) will be in the state this Wednesday to garner the additional support needed to capture the state.
