Just reported in the Denver Post that Joe Sakic has decided to end his amazing career and retire. This is the end of an era in Denver sports and Super-Joe will forever be the first hockey superstar this town had known.
Thanks for all the great memories, Joe.
A quick commentary that this is a classy way to step out for Sakic. The Avs are rebuilding so there is really no point in him returning and it is great that he retired as an Avalanche instead of looking for one last season elsewhere.
